Merida, the daughter of Scottish King Fergus and Queen Elinor, is a skilled archer who wants to carve out her own path in life. Her defiance of an age-old tradition, marrying the son of a neighboring clan, angers the Highland lords and leads to chaos in the kingdom. Merida seeks help from an eccentric witch, who grants her an ill-fated wish. Now, Merida must discover the true meaning of courage and undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

This had been on my to-watch list for a lot of years, and finally I gave this the shot when deciding for a movie-night with my wife. It was a feel-good movie made well. The highest tension moment for me was when Merida makes a deal with the witch to solve her feud with her mother. But after that it was mostly smooth sailing.
My favorite characters would have to be the three brothers of Merida. Perfect example of the chaos and menace that we generally find the Minions engaging in. One of my favorite scenes was when Merida is trapped in a room whose keys are with a maid, and Merida sets the brothers on her trail with just one instruction: "Get the keys."
I won't spoil much else but if you haven't seen this and are looking for a feel good movie that both kids and adults alike can enjoy then this would be a nice choice.
