Shiva then infiltrates the castle on day of erection of Bhallaldev's giant gold statue, that day a kind-of festival has been organized. During erection, when some of the workers fall and the statue begins to come down Shiva grabs hold of the ropes and brings it back to it's position while simultaneously helping others gain their footing back. While going from there, the cloth covering his mouth comes off and one of the workers is astonished on noticing his face, it appears as though he has recognized the face and starts chanting "Bahubali, Bahubali". Soon all the workers and rest of the civilians pick up the chant and draw strength from it. This chant angers Bhallaldev. The statue is raised and in Bhallaldev's mind it is shown that a statue which dwarves his in size has been upraised of another person who looks like Shiva.

He calls all his soldiers and asks them as to whether anyone has noticed who started the chant? Shiva has taken the guise of one of the soldiers and says that he saw it. When Bhallaldev calls him forward for further explanation, he spills a fire and flees there amidst the ensuing chaos. Before leaving though, Bhallaldev notices and recognizes the look in eyes of Shiva and asks his son Bhadra to bring that soldier alive.

Shiva then breaks Devsena's chains in the courtyard and asks her to come with him which she complies to. They leave the courtyard of palace on a chariot with both Bhadra and Katappa on their pursuit.
