While reading Cal Newport's book Deep Work I though of setting up a home-office and make an office schedule for me.
This schedule will make sure that I get time for focused work everyday and also encourage me to not get distracted during that time.
My current idea is to block a slot of 11:00 to 17:00. And a 1 hour break in-between for lunch. At the moment, the break is scheduled from 13:00-14:00 though it can also be shifted to 13:30-14:30 which is preferred by me since I will get 2.5 hours to work on each side of the break.
I chose this time so that I get a continuous time-block and also leave myself with a 1-hour room on both sides, 10:00-11:00 in the morning and 17:00-18:00 in the evening where any needed work corresponding to outside can be completed. So actually the time I get to work daily can be greater than 11:00-17:00 since I would need the surrounding couple of hours only when I have outside work.
Next up is the task of convincing my parents to let me follow this pattern. Then comes the task of finding something like a Japanese shoji screen so that I can separate a work-area for my work-time from my bedroom. Mainly I want my bed to not be visible to me during work-time.
